1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing, accessing, or using ResumeRift (“the Service,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to comply with and be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). These Terms apply to all users of the Service, including free and paid subscribers.

If you are using ResumeRift on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

ResumeRift is an AI-powered Chrome extension that:

• Generates AI-powered answers to job application questions
• Detects form fields on job boards (LinkedIn, Greenhouse, Lever, Workday)
• Provides one-click auto-fill functionality
• Stores your resume locally in your browser for privacy

The Service uses Anthropic's Claude API for AI generation. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time.

3. Account Registration & Eligibility

3.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use ResumeRift. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.

3.2 Account Accuracy

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.

3.3 Account Security

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@resumerift.com if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Subscription Plans & Payments

4.1 Free Tier

Free users may generate AI answers for up to 5 job applications per month. This limit resets on the 1st of each calendar month.

4.2 Pro Plan

The Pro plan is available at $5.99/month and provides unlimited AI answer generation. Payment is processed by Whop, our third-party payment provider.

4.3 Billing & Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew each month unless cancelled before the renewal date. You authorize us (via Whop) to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis.

4.4 Refund Policy

Refunds are issued at our sole discretion. To request a refund, contact us within 7 days of your charge at support@resumerift.com. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial months.

4.5 Price Changes

We reserve the right to change pricing at any time. We will provide at least 14 days' notice of any price increase via email or in-app notification.

5. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree NOT to use ResumeRift to:

• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information in job applications
• Misrepresent your qualifications, experience, or identity to employers
• Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party terms of service
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the extension or backend services
• Attempt to bypass usage limits or circumvent access controls
• Use the Service for any commercial purpose other than your own job search
• Share your account credentials with others
• Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the Service

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Our IP

ResumeRift, including its code, design, trademarks, and content, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written consent.

6.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of your resume and any content you upload. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process your content solely for the purpose of delivering the Service (i.e., generating AI answers).

6.3 AI-Generated Content

AI-generated answers are provided for your personal use. We make no claim of ownership over answers generated for you, and you may use them freely in your job applications.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RESUMERIFT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Our total cumulative liability to you for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $71.88 USD.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ResumeRift and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) any content you submit through the Service; or (d) your violation of any third-party rights.

10. Third-Party Services

ResumeRift integrates with third-party services including Anthropic (AI generation), Whop (payments), Supabase (database), and Sentry (error monitoring). Your use of third-party services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices or content of any third-party service.

11. Termination

11.1 By You

You may cancel your subscription and delete your account at any time by contacting us at support@resumerift.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

11.2 By Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice, if you violate these Terms or engage in any activity that we determine, in our sole discretion, to be harmful to the Service or other users.

11.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 13, and 14 survive termination.

12. Privacy

Your use of ResumeRift is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service before the effective date.

14. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Pakistan, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Karachi, Pakistan.

Before initiating formal legal proceedings, you agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting us at legal@resumerift.com.
